Mike Kypriss
Coach Michael Kypriss has coached high school tennis for over 44 years, winning a combined record 18 FHSAA State Championships (12 girls’ and 6 boys’) titles.
Coach Mike was a 1st Team High School All-American quarterback from Miami Norland High School and committed to the University of Kentucky.
He started the last 4 games of his Freshman season only to suffer a career ending injury to his rotator cuff in his sophomore season spring football game. He played junior tennis until the age of 13 before moving on to football and baseball full time.
With a remarkable career record of 1365–70, he has coached at Miami Killian Senior High (7 State Championships), Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High (10 State Championships), and Nease High School (1 State Championship). His teams had 14 State Runner-Up finishes and 30 Regional Titles.
Coach Kypriss has helped send over 250 players to compete on Division I and II scholarships, including 35 High School All-Americans. He has also coached professional players such as Jean-Julien Rojer, a four-time Grand Slam doubles champion, and mentored others Jack Brasington (Texas) and Paige Yaroshuk -Tewes (UCLA) who have gone on to successful college coaching careers.
A USPTR Certified High Performance Coach and Yonex Brand Ambassador, Coach Kypriss has received numerous honors, including NHSACA Tennis Coach of the Year (twice), Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year (six times), and the Miami Herald Lifetime Achievement Award (2016).
In addition, he has won the Victory with Honors coach's award 2 times in St. Johns County.
He is a proud member of three Hall of Fames—the FHSAA (Class of 2024), FACA (2021), and NHSACA (2022). Coach Michael Kypriss has been married to his wife Sherri for 44 years and has three daughters and four grandchildren.
Chandler Hagan

Coach Chandler has been coaching in the Jacksonville area since 2021. After playing tennis at the University of Montevallo, Chandler became dedicated to connecting kids to their dreams of playing collegiate or professional tennis. Chandler is also USPTA and Safeplay certified.
Anika Nissen

Anika is currently the head girls’ tennis coach at Nease High School, where she led the Panthers to the FHSAA Class 3A Girls Team State Championship last year. Coach Anika has been coaching for four years and brings her passion for player development and competition to every level of the game. A former standout at Flagler College, she broke the program record for most matches won and earned multiple All–Peach Belt Conference honors in singles and doubles (2019, 2022). During her senior season, she went 22–1 in singles, finished on a 22-match win streak, and helped lead Flagler to its first-ever NCAA Elite Eight appearance.
After graduating, Anika served as an assistant coach for the Flagler women’s tennis team before later becoming a head coach. Known for her energy and commitment, she focuses on developing strong, confident players both on and off the court. Anika is also SafeSport certified.
Eli Hagan

Eli began playing tennis at age 10 and quickly developed a passion for the game. In high school, he earned MVP honors both his junior and senior years, compiling an outstanding 77–2 record. His success earned him a full scholarship to Wallace State, where he played No. 4 singles and No. 1 doubles.
During his time at Wallace State, Eli made school history as the first-ever top-seeded player at the NJCAA National Championships. His team captured the conference title and finished 7th in the nation during his sophomore year.
Eli then transferred to Shorter University (NCAA Division II) on a full scholarship, where he competed in one of the toughest DII conferences in the country (GSC). He was a top doubles player and contributed at the No. 4–5 singles positions.
Alongside his playing career, Elijah has built a strong coaching résumé with over four years of experience. He’s coached at the Rome Tennis Center, Rod Ray Tennis Camp at Wofford College, and Mike Kypriss Elite, helping players of all levels elevate their game.
Patrick Kotan

Patrick Kotan is a dedicated tennis player with over two decades of experience in the sport. As a junior, he reached a state ranking of No. 2 and a national ranking of No. 7 in Australia for under-18. Internationally, he achieved a career-high ranking of No. 400 in ITF Juniors. Patrick continued both his academic and athletic journey at the University of North Florida (UNF), where he further developed his skills, discipline, and passion for the game. Patrick is Currently Playing on the Pro Circuit with multiple ATP points in doubles and itf points in singles.
